Commit to making a difference

Starting a monthly gift is one of the easiest, most impactful, and reliable ways you can help ensure we’re able to be there for girls and women in rural Africa, no matter what challenges we face.

How we use your donation

As well as paying school fees and other essentials, such as uniforms, books, and menstrual products, your gift helps beyond the classroom, supporting young graduates with the training and resources they need to become economically independent leaders in their communities.

Over 90% of every dollar we spend goes to our programs.

Start your monthly commitment to girls’ education

Poverty is the greatest barrier to accessing an education. Just $19 a month can secure a girl’s right to education for a year by providing the essentials she needs.

How does my gift help?

Every year, poverty keeps millions of girls in Africa from going to school. But when you educate a girl, everything changes.

  • 2X

Women with a secondary school education will earn twice as much, on average, as women without an education. Lack of girls' secondary education costs countries between $15 and $30 trillion in lost lifetime productivity and earnings.

    World Bank (2018)

  • 50%

A child whose mother can read is 50% more likely to live past the age of 5 and to be immunized, and is twice as likely to go to school.

    Global Partnership for Education (2024)

  • 3x

Educated girls are up to three times less likely to become HIV-positive, and at reduced risk of malaria.

Building a brighter future for girls like Jessey

Jessey is 15 years old and attends primary school in Machinga, a southern district of Malawi. One of six children, her parents are farmers who work tirelessly to meet the costs of the uniform, books and supplies she needs for school. With food scarce and a daily 7km walk to school, Jessey was at risk of missing out on her education.

But then CAMFED stepped in, providing everything she needed to stay in school and supporting a local Mother Support Group to provide students with a daily meal of nutritious porridge. With your support, Jessey is working hard at school and wants to become a journalist:

I am sure I will achieve my goal because I know that somebody somewhere thinks and cares about my future.

When you educate one girl, you educate many

Every girl you support through CAMFED will go on to help at least three others to go to school, multiplying your impact far into the future.
