Marceline lives in a rural community in Zimbabwe. Her mother struggled to cover her school fees, stationery, and other school-going costs.

Walking the long distance to school was another of Marceline’s biggest challenges, as she lives with a physical disability that makes everyday tasks more challenging. The physical strain was heavy, and there were days she wondered if she could keep going.

Everything changed when her community selected her to receive a CAMFED scholarship and helped establish a low-cost boarding facility at the school. Now, she receives a tailored package of school-going items and lives in a safe and supportive space. For the first time, she has the chance to rest and study without the heavy burden of long, painful walks.
